George our group's naturalist leads guided walks around the site.
Recording the flora & fauna is a large part of our work. We have our own moth trap and have to date recorded over 100 species

In partnership with members of the Mammal Society & Dorset Bat group, mammal traps have been set on site. The species and weight have then been recorded.

A litter pick of the Common took place in August 2006. Members of the Henry Brown Youth Centre, Dorset Police, Urban Heaths Partnership , Countryside officers from Bournemouth Borough Council joined us for what turned out to be a great event.

Our Autumn/Winter work programme for 2008/2009 took place on Poole Lane Heights and Central Bog.
Really pleased with the results !
In 2008 we took part in the BTCV's "Big Tidy Up" on site. Litter picking is another task we feel is really important and many members are regularly involved in this.
We have placed numerous bird & bat boxes on site.
In the past few years we have held very successful bat walks on site with members of the Dorset Bat Group.
On 5/12/09 we took part in the
TreeO'Clock
project which aimed to break a world record for tree planting. We planted a hedgerow in Poole Lane Meadows which will attract wildlife.
